Audra McDonald has won six Tony Awards for performance, more than any other individual. She is the only person to have won Tony Awards in four different acting categories.

p.s. Audra won her first Tony in 1994, so she’s won 6 awards (out of 8 nominations) in 20 years. Not only did she set the record for most performance Tonys, she also won them faster than anyone else. (It took Julie Harris 25 years to win 5, and then another 25 years to win her sixth, which was honorary. It took Angela Lansbury 43 years to win 5.)

The kicker? This woman is only 43. She’s got *at least* another 20 years on the stage ahead of her.
